Who It's For
Built for Every Kind of Website
Whether you run a football blog, an online shop, or a local business site, there's a WidgetForge widget that adds instant value for your visitors.
Why WidgetForge
Widgets should be free.
So these are.
Most embeddable widget services hide their best features behind monthly subscriptions, require account creation before you can see anything, or quietly inject ads into your pages without telling you. WidgetForge does none of that.
Every widget on this site is completely free to configure and embed. There are no premium tiers, no sign-up walls, and no credit card fields. The service is supported by advertising displayed on WidgetForge's own pages — not on yours.
The only thing we ask is that the small Powered by WidgetForge attribution link stays visible in the widget footer. That's the trade — a free, fully functional widget in exchange for a single line of credit.
Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to create an account to use WidgetForge?
No account is required at any point. You configure your widget directly on the page, copy the generated embed code, and paste it into your website. There is no registration, no email verification, and no login screen. The widget works immediately.
Will widgets slow down my website?
Widgets load asynchronously inside their own iframe, isolated from your main page. Your page renders fully before the widget loads, so there is no impact on your core page speed or Largest Contentful Paint score. The football and weather widgets fetch data from WidgetForge's own servers, so your visitors never make direct API calls to third-party services.
How do I add a widget to a WordPress site?
In the WordPress block editor (Gutenberg), add a Custom HTML block where you want the widget to appear, paste your embed code into the block, then click Update or Publish. For sidebars, go to Appearance → Widgets, add a Custom HTML widget, and paste the code there. No plugin is needed — the widget loads automatically for all visitors.
Can I use multiple widgets on the same page?
Yes. You can embed as many widgets as you like on a single page. Each widget is independent — use different countdown styles in different sections, or combine a weather widget in the header with a football widget in the sidebar. There is no limit on the number of embeds.
Can I change the colours to match my website?
Yes. Every widget includes a colour theme panel in the configurator. Choose from preset themes or set a fully custom background, text, and accent colour using hex codes. Your colour choices are baked into the embed code, so all your visitors always see your version of the widget.
Can I remove the "Powered by WidgetForge" branding?
The attribution link is how we sustain the free service. We ask that you keep it visible — it takes up just a single small line at the bottom of the widget. A paid licence tier that removes the attribution is planned for a future release.
Which football leagues and teams are supported?
The football widgets currently support four leagues: the Premier League, the English Championship, the Bundesliga, and La Liga. That covers over 80 clubs. Data refreshes daily for fixtures and standings, and every 60 seconds during live matches. More leagues may be added in future.
What weather data source is used?
Weather widgets use the Open-Meteo API, a free and open-source weather service with global coverage. Conditions and forecasts are available for any city worldwide. No API key is required on your end — WidgetForge handles all data fetching server-side.
